Our History

RPM was founded in 1990. The Limited Stock Car Division was the first car built & maintained by RPM to compete at Madera Speedway. The car was a 1970 Dodge Dart that competed and was able to finishing in the top ten in points in 1993 and 1994.

1994 was also the first year I was introduced to a Legend Race Car. Madera Speedway decided that they would become a NASCAR sanctioned track for 1995 and the Limited Stock Division was disbanded.

So, in 1995 at the request of the local Legends Car dealer I began running demonstration events throughout California. This was the start of the Northern California Legends Car Division.

This was the start of the Northern California Legends Car Division.

In 1995 there were enough cars to start the racing season. I continued to drive the car for the dealer and soon realized the car was not only a blast to drive, it was much more affordable than the stock car I had been competing with. We traveled throughout the state promoting the series.

In 1996 I was hired to drive the Taco Bell #37 Chevy sedan for Allen Beebe. I competed in 22 events that season taking the overall victory in 20 of them. 1996 also was the year that other Legend car competitors sought my assistance to make their cars perform at a higher level.

In 1997 through 2000 I was hired by several different drivers to maintain the Legends cars and coach their driving on the oval track series.

At the same time I was coach the circle track racers, I began racing road course circuits with the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). From a three car field in 1998, the Nor-Cal NASA roadracing group has grow to have an average turnout of 20+ Legends and Thunder Roadsters at every event.

I drove my first Thunder Roadster in the fall of 2005 for NASA owner Jerry Kunzman. That same year at the World Finals held at Infineon I won the race.

During the 2003 through 2005 season my two sons, Robert and Ryan also started their racing careers and were becoming accomplished racers.

In 2006 Both Robert and Ryan set out to win their divisions in the roadracing series. Both were successful in earning their respective National titles.

During this time I stepped back from driving to focus on the maintenance and service of both Legends and Thunder Roadsters for customer from all over California.

In 2009, I stepped back into the driver's seat in the RPM Thunder Roadster. I won 13 event weekends with one DNF due to a leaking valve cover gasket.

The 2009 World Finals completed the perfect season with fast time, heat race and World Finals victory.

RPM maintained Legends and Thunder Roadsters have earned six National Titles, two World Finals victories and countless State Titles in both Road and Oval track racing.

The service provided is complete from the front to rear of the car including chassis repair & straightening. Complete brake service and repair as well as complete engine rebuilding and performance carb tuning.
