Tune it up properly

After my carb rebuild I had nothing to tune the carbs with, so I made a crude sync tool out of a couple of bottles, oil, and some clear tube. I managed to get them running fairly smooth but the bike didn't have the pep it had before.
Once I calibrated the sync pro (which you have to do before each use) and hooked it up, I noticed the carbs were way out. A fraction of a turn each way and the fluid moves up or down, so you can get it spot on.
The bike runs a lot better now, and the lost power restored. A bit fiddly than other sync tools to set up, but works well.

Highly accurate sync tool

The syncpro is VERY accurate in comparison to the cheaper gauges that I bought locally. The cheap gauges worked fine (with restrictors), but were not sensitive enough to fine tune my bike. The difference is noticeable. The motor was not as crisp and I could not get rid of a little vibration at around 4k rpm, which i did easily with the Syncpro. The Syncpro has to be calibrated before every use and any minute adjustment is displayed by the fluid movement....so I keep ending up with excellent results.

After doing over 10 syncs on my carbs it was time for a refill. I was hoping to avoid ordering more fluid, cleaning and refilling the Syncpro fluid so I bought the gauges. I am sure there are lots of higher quality gauges and the Morgan Carbtune, but why spend more money to get the same results.

I will continue to use the syncpro.
